Karl is a Commercial Finance Director with a track record of working with ambitious owners and CEOs/MDs to grow their businesses quickly and profitably by improving processes and systems whilst managing risk, developing MI and reporting, and reviewing/updating financial models (forecasting and strategic plans) whilst also keeping a close eye on cash flow.
Karl’s biggest achievements include:
- Improving the profitability of a luxury travel company from £1m EBITDA loss to £4m profit by reducing costs, improving efficiencies and by directing commercial focus.
- Secured Private Equity funding for a Fast Fashion retailer and then brought the Finance function in-house, building a team and creating processes and controls whilst also building a suite of reports to enable better decision-making throughout the business, alongside standard weekly/monthly reporting.
- Acted as business partner to the MD of a fast-growing manufacturer of e-liquids, driving execution through the business and ensuring financial rigour around decision-making.
